Robyn Paterson is a professional actress, playwright and voice over artist. She has worked in film, television and theatre professionally throughout New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom since 2004. She graduated from the New Zealand Unitec School of Performing and Screen Arts in Auckland New Zealand and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York, USA. She has also worked under casting directors Terri De'Ath, Matt and Mike Dwyer, Miranda Harcourt, Keren LeClair Green, Leigh Pickford, Nanw Rowlands and Olivia Scott-Webb in New Zealand, Australia and London.

As well as attending The Neighbourhood Playhouse, otherwise known as The Meisner School, she has also completed three years of studying with Sanford Mesiner alum, Michael Saccente. 

 

She has trained in horse riding, singing stage combat, fencing and gun handling. She is a surfer, swimmer, boxer, dancer, drummer, long distance runner and snowboarder. In 2013 she completed her post-graduate diploma in journalism at the Auckland University of Technology.

 

In 2016 her self written solo show 'The South Afreakins', debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it had a month long sell out season, won an EdFringe boquet for Best Monologue at the Fringe, recieved critical acclaim and was also chosen as The Edinburgh Reporter's Pick of the Fringe 2016.

 The show was then invited to The London Vault Festival in February 2017 and The Basement Winter Season in Auckland, New Zealand where it sold out again. 

In May 2018, it sold out at The Meteor Theatre in Hamilton in New Zealand and is due to be performed at the Hawke's Bay Arts Festival in New Zealand in October 2018. It has also been booked for the NZ Southland Arts festival in April/May 2019, Blenheim in June 2019, Christchurch, Kokomai, Nelson and Tauranga Arts Festivals in October 2019 and has a nationwide month long tour scheduled for November 2019 with NZ Arts on Tour. 

In 2017, her newest short play, 'The Origin of the Species' was a finalist in both the 2017 Auckland and Sydney Short and Sweet Theatre Festivals.

She has just completed filming on 'Same but Different,' a New Zealand rom-com feature, playing the lead of 'Rachel', that is due for release in March 2019.

 

She is currently represented by Johnson and Laird agency in Auckland, New Zealand.

Her voice-over agent is Sarah McLeod at Big Mouth Agency in Auckland, New Zealand.

She is currently living and working in London, UK.

THE LONDON MEISNER INSTITUTE & TESTIMONIALS

 

In 2018, Robyn Paterson founded and became the sole director of The London Meisner Institute. She currently coaches from the institute's two premises in Richmond and Brick Lane, London. 

 

She currently lectures on the technique at Royal Holloway University, Kingston University, Roehampton University and London Southbank University and has done at Waikato University in Hamilton, New Zealand in the past. 

She has also been invited to lecture at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. 

Robyn is currently one of only two coaches located in London who has studied at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, as well as with one of Sanford Meisner's graduates. 

 Her students can be seen in films  such as Mama Mia 2, Ready Player One, Star Wars, My Cousin Rachel and Maleficent.
